Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef

  • 1 Pound Ground Sausage (I used Jimmy Dean)

  • 1 1/8 Cup Seasoned bread crumbs

  • 1 Egg

  • 1/4 Cup Milk

  • 1/4 Cup finely dices onion

  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic

  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 Tbsp Tomato paste

  • 1 Tbsp Parsley

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 1/8 tsp pepper

  • Glaze
  • 1/2 Cup Ketchup

  • 2 Tbsp packed brown sugar

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350° (176° C)
  • In a large bowl using your hands combine all ingredients.
  • Next, press the meat mixture into a loaf pan.
  • Spread half of the glaze over meatloaf.
  • Bake covered in aluminum foil for 40 minutes. Then uncover and spread the remaining glaze mixture over the meatloaf.
  • Return to oven uncovered for the remainder of time (50 minutes)
  • Allow your meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Serve warm and Enjoy!

Notes

  • You will need: A loaf pan, large mixing bowl, measuring spoons & cups, aluminum foil, pot holders, spatula for spreading glaze.
  • This reheats well in oven or microwave.
  • Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, boiled parsley potatoes or buttered noodles, along with your favorite veggies.

    When my kids were little we called it Meat Pizza and I formed it in a donut shape on a cookie sheet. The sausage must make the loaf moist. I’m going to give it a try!

    1. Yes, it does make the loaf moist. That’s why I decided to try it with one egg and less than normal milk. And it turned out good and flavorful. I was glad I didn’t mess it up. I prefer a moist loaf instead of a crispy one.

  3. Yum! And that could be switched up with different types of sausage, too, I think. Some spicy Italian sausage, for example. My favourite thing to do with leftover meatloaf is to slice it thinly and make a sandwich.
