Welcome to our Sweet Tea & Friends November Link Up! I’m so glad you stopped by, pulled up a chair, and joined us today.
Before we jump in, friends, I wanted to share a quick update on my October physical therapy for my lower right back and right hip. The great news? I feel AMAZING now!
But… well, there’s always a “but” somewhere, isn’t there?
While the PT worked wonders on my back and hip, all those exercises ended up severely angering my bad right knee. Back in 2018, I had my knee debrided (cleaned out) via arthroscopy. I was actually scheduled to get a full knee replacement, but then I watched a video of the procedure on YouTube and completely chickened out! So now, I’m heading back into PT specifically for my knee, hoping we can soothe its anger. That means November is turning out to be another rest month for me.
Then, mid to late month, my Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)—that pesky positional vertigo—decided to send me for a few loops. It usually acts up about twice a year, which means I have to go in and get my ear crystals reset. The trouble was there were zero PT openings anywhere in my health system for weeks with the therapists who specialize in it, so I just had to wait it out.
And that leads me to quite a story for you all!
I got up early one morning to go to the bathroom. Even though I sat on the edge of my bed for a moment before standing, it must not have been long enough. The second I stood up and started walking, I felt weak and went black in the head. I managed to back up against the wall, but the next thing I knew, I opened my eyes, looked at my dog, and said out loud: “Huh… I’m on the floor.”
Then I told her, “I should probably lay here for a minute to make sure my head isn’t floopy.”
And right after that, I promptly prayed, “Thank You, Jesus, for breaking my fall.”
To be honest, I don’t even remember if I ever made it to the bathroom! I skinned up my other knee and ended up with a sore spot on my forehead, but overall, I’m okay. And here’s the crazy kicker: that fall must have actually reset my ear crystals! I haven’t been dizzy, spinny, or had a single BPPV symptom ever since! Talk about a blessing in disguise.

November? Come on now where did 2026 go, Paula?! Never did a year gallop away at such a pace. I hope you’ll finish out the year healthy, strong, and filled with joy. Thanks for making us all feel at home 12 months a year. Bless you, girl!
So thankful for the “good news” and praying for grace as you overcome other health challenges, Paula. Thanks for hosting us and may you enjoy all the beautiful fall colors!
Thanks for the update! I’m glad you’re doing so much better–but sorry about the angry knee. I hope that clears up soon. I get vertigo sometimes, too. I was sent to PT when originally diagnosed to do the crystal reset thing, but then they gave me an exercise to do at home–the Epley maneuver. I’m sorry you fell but glad that got the ear crystals back in the right place. I hope you have a better month in November!
