I’m sorry to say that I haven’t been writing much lately. I’ve been having a fibromyalgia flare, and the biggest thing has been my trigeminal neuralgia flare. My trigeminal neuralgia (TN) flares seem to run in cycles of about 6 weeks, relentless with me so miserable. It’s almost impossible to read or write, let alone do daily stuff; washing and brushing my hair hurt, and so does chewing and wind on the right side of my face. Sleeping? It’s so hard to get my head comfortable, and I can’t lay on the right side of my face; I had to switch back to my old glasses because my newer ones touch my cheek. I find myself mostly just talking to Jesus, in prayer, and singing to him in my head, listening to podcasts or T.V. since reading and writing hurts my eyes. But then, after many weeks, I get a reprieve of about 6 weeks or so when my trigeminal neuralgia is quiet, offering me much relief and more normalness and being able to function better in my day-to-day, and yes read and write.

During the flares, you will find that while I’m here in my space, I’m quieter. It’s during these times when Jesus literally says, you HAVE to stop, be quiet, and put your head on my lap. It’s during these quiet weeks that I find myself unable to link up with those of you who also host Link-ups. Focus and concentration are so off that I don’t want to chance being a Link runner myself. My favorite part of Sweet Tea & Friends and linking up with other hostesses is the fact that I love visiting with everyone. I also wanted to let you know it may take me some time to visit and comment when you link up with Sweet Tea & Friends during my flare times, too. But don’t worry, I will always visit and comment on tour posts.

I hope you understand. Please forgive me for not being as active as usual. I’m doing my best to manage my symptoms, and I will be back to writing as soon as I can in between flares. Thank you for your patience and support.

P.S. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. I’m always happy to chat.

  2. I had wondered, and hoped nothing was wrong, when I didn’t see you on your sites the last couple of weeks. I’m so sorry you’ve been in pain all this time. 🙁 I hope it eases soon and you have sweet fellowship with Jesus while you rest. No worries about visiting and commenting. We love to have you drop by when you can, but understand when you can’t.

  3. Oh, Paula I am so sorry to hear you’ve been struggling and in pain. I hope you get some relief soon and in the meantime I wouldn’t worry about visiting and commenting. You are doing your best and no one can expect more than that.

    2. Thank you so much for your kind words and support Joanne. It means so much to me.

  4. Dear Friend, rest quietly and don’t think about running around online for a minute! You continue to be a gracious hostess and none of your friends are going to stop dropping in because you’re not hopping from post to post every other minute. Please rest and be kind to yourself even as you have been so kind and gracious to us.

Praying for His comfort and healing touch.

  5. My heart hurts to hear that you have so much physical pain, Paula. 😢 None of us here want you feeling additional mental pain by thinking we expect you to visit our every post we link. You are such a gracious hostess to us; accept our gift of grace to you. Go easy on yourself; I hope this flare will pass quickly. You are a brave, strong woman.

I’m so sorry about the flare-ups! 🙁 I agree with Lisa–go easy on yourself. Linkups are so much fun, but you don’t owe us anything. As you said, just rest your head in Jesus’ lap when you need to. That’s exactly what it’s for! <3 Thank you for hosting this wonderful linkup. I'm off now to visit other posts, like we all do, so you just rest! 🙂

  8. I’m so sorry to read that you’ve been dealing with TN flare-ups. I have a dear friend who deals with them and it can be so debilitating and it impacts every aspect of life. It’s time to take extra care of yourself, knowing that you are being lifted up in prayer! The image of resting one’s head in Jesus’s lap is so comforting – may it bring you peace and healing! Thanks, as always, for hosting this special link up each month!

Paula, first on the list, take care of you! Second on the list, while we all miss you when you are away, we know it is not by choice, but by pain level. And third, come and visit when you can, I think I speak for most, that will be more than enjoyable for us all. You are cared for, no doubt about it! PS, thanks for the link-up, and no worries from here on out! Melynda @scratchmadefood!
