My Review
Journey to Bethlehem is a 2023 musical film that retells the classic Nativity story in a fresh and exciting way. I really enjoyed this movie for a number of reasons— although, I have to tell you I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first. But I was drawn in when Mary and Joseph met.
The music is fantastic. The songs are catchy, well-written, and performed beautifully by the cast. A mix of traditional Christmas carols and new original songs, the music is a big part of what makes the movie so enjoyable.
The characters are well-developed and relatable. Mary is portrayed as a strong and independent young woman, and Joseph is a loving and supportive mate. The three wise men are also great characters, with their own unique personalities and backstories. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them at first either, but they grew on me.
The movie balances humor and drama. There are funny moments, but there are so many genuinely touching and emotional scenes. Let’s just say I was tearful at the end. The movie does a great job of capturing the hope and joy of the Christmas story, as well as the challenges and hardships that Mary and Joseph faced.
Overall, I thought Journey to Bethlehem was a nice movie. It’s well-made, emotion stirring, entertaining, thought-provoking, engaging and fresh. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a family friendly and refreshing way to experience the Christmas story.
Here are some other reasons why I liked the movie
—The production values are high, with beautiful cinematography and costumes.
—The acting is strong across the board.
—The movie stays with and portrays the positive and uplifting message of Scripture.
—It’s a movie that the whole family can enjoy together.
If you’re looking for a feel-good Christmas movie that will put you in the holiday spirit, I highly recommend Journey to Bethlehem.
